COURSE INFORMATION:

Duration: Full Day Program commences at 8:30am and concludes at 4:15pm

Course consists of both theory and practical sessions.

Legal: Drivers must sign an indemnity prior to participating in the practical component.

Vehicle: Participants must provide their own vehicle for the practical activities that they are familiar with.

Vehicle must be registered and road worthy.

Two drivers may share the same vehicle but not recommended due to time constraints - normal fees apply to each driver.

Completion: A certificate of attendance is handed out to all participants at the end of the day.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Evaluation of drivers and their use of the controls including gears (auto & manual), brakes and steering.

Selected manoeuvres conducted at Freeway/Highway type speeds in safe environment.
Risk-taking and the consequences.

Slalom and cornering manoeuvres concentrating on vision placement skills, smoothness, balance and vehicle dynamics.

Collision avoidance training.

Wet road driving (Subject to Water Restrictions).

Certificate issued on completion of program.

COURSE CONTENT AND STRUCTURE:

The program incorporates refresher and upgrade content to Defensive Driver Training Level 1 and develops a deeper understanding of the defensive driving theory and skills with greater emphasis on practical exercises.

It is designed for drivers of all levels of experience and incorporates the BAAMS® Driver Profile to ensure that drivers have a chance to examine their own driver safety profile. The BAAMS® Driver Profile recognises that safe driving is dependent on each driver's:
